ZKsync introduces ZK token, governance
ZKsync is initiating a governance model to ensure its protocol remains decentralized and community-driven. The recent v24 upgrade supports an expanding network of ZK chains. The ZK token will enable holders to vote on protocol upgrades and pay for network fees. To facilitate governance, two-thirds of ZK tokens will be distributed to the community, with 17.5% through an airdrop and the rest through ecosystem initiatives managed by the ZKsync Foundation. The airdrop targets real users and contributors, ensuring fair distribution. Each delegate will receive 5,000 ZK tokens for six months to represent the community’s interests. The proposal includes detailed eligibility criteria and a structured allocation process to reward active participants and contributors in the ZKsync ecosystem.
PleasrDAO v. Shkreli re: Wu-Tang Clan album
As Cointelegraph reports, PleasrDAO, known for collecting digital and physical art, has filed a lawsuit against Martin Shkreli which alleges that Shkreli caused "significant monetary and irreparable harm" by live-streaming the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin," which PleasrDAO acquired (from the US Dept. of Justice) in 2021 for approximately $4.75 million. PleasrDAO claims that Shkreli retained and disseminated copies of the album's data and files, violating the terms of the government’s forfeiture order. Shkreli has denounced the lawsuit, asserting that PleasrDAO members were not consulted about the legal action. The DAO's complaint emphasizes the album's unique status and the damage caused by its unauthorized release. “Our master plan is to release the music to the public in a way that honors the Wu-Tang Clan and gets them paid while circumventing the streaming oligopoly; every action we are taking is in service of that mission,” PleasrDAO tweeted on X.

📜 Highlighted Proposals
Aave: AL Service Provider Proposal
This proposal suggests engaging Aave Labs for one year as a technical contributor to develop Aave V4 and establish a new visual identity. Key deliverables for Aave V4 include a modular architecture, unified liquidity layer, automated interest rate adjustments, dynamic risk configurations, smart accounts, enhanced liquidation mechanisms, and automated treasury management. Additionally, the GHO features will include native minting, "soft" liquidations, and stablecoin interest paid in GHO. Visual identity deliverables consist of comprehensive visual assets and guidelines. The grant totals $12 million GHO, with $3 million upfront and $9 million distributed over the year. Evaluation will be through monthly reports and DAO feedback, with possible renewal for subsequent years based on community input and approval. Voting ends on June 14th.
Gitcoin: Streamlining Governance Processes
This proposal aims to streamline DAO governance by clarifying proposal categories, updating the governance manual, improving labeling, setting steward approval thresholds, and exploring the development of a constitution. Ambiguities and overlaps in categorizing and processing proposals currently hinder effective governance, and this proposal seeks to address these issues. It introduces Onchain and Offchain master categories with subcategories for better proposal categorization and explores creating a legally binding constitution to outline fundamental principles and structures. Additionally, it implements minimum voting power thresholds for steward approval to ensure higher quality proposals. The governance manual will be revised to reflect changes, simplify roles, and delegate updates to the governance coordinator. Voting opens on June 13th.
Gnosis: Should karpatkey and StableLab Establish a Delegate Program v0 for the GnosisDAO?
This proposal aims to enhance quorum participation and governance processes within the GnosisDAO by electing ten delegates through a transparent election process. Each delegate will receive 5,000 GNO from the DAO Treasury for a six-month term. The proposal specifies eligibility criteria, requiring active community membership and governance experience. Delegates will be selected via Snapshot voting and must meet participation standards to ensure accountability. The program includes a $20,000 budget to pay StableLab for program facilitation and oversight. The proposal also outlines the delegate selection process, program evaluation, and the roles of karpatkey and StableLab in implementing and managing the program. Voting ends on June 14th.
